I was born and grew up right here, in Laurel, Mississippi. After graduating high school, I attended college at Jones County Junior College and The University of Southern Mississippi. At Southern Miss, I fell in love with painting and ceramics. I majored in Fine Art with an emphasis in Painting and Drawing plus 3D Design. After graduating, I stuck around Southern Miss to receive a Master’s Degree in Art Education. After college, I became Curator of Education at Lauren Rogers Museum of Art, Mississippi’s first art museum. If you visit Laurel, don’t miss it!  I’m serious. Don’t miss it!  LRMA is incredible! Besides museum education, I have taught art at Laurel High School and St. John’s Day School in Laurel.

I am inspired every day by the children I teach.  I love the way kids just jump right in with their art!  They just grab a brush and some paint and go for it! Personally, I enjoy painting ordinary, familiar objects. I’m crazy about a still life! I also absolutely love bright colors and bold patterns.  It brings me so much joy to know my paintings are adding happiness and a punch of color to people’s homes!
